Cancellations & Refunds
Our cancellation terms are strict, and we would rather you read them here before you book than find them in the small print afterwards. This page sets out what you pay if plans change and exactly how to cancel.
The short version
- Your deposit and booking fee are not refundable.
- Every cancellation carries a minimum charge of £150. How much more depends on how much notice you give.
- A cancellation only counts if it is in writing, by email or by post.
- You can change a booking up to seven days before the hire, if the vehicle is available.
What happens in each situation
- You cancel
- You lose your deposit and booking fee, and a cancellation charge of at least £150 applies. The amount depends on when we receive your written notice. The terms that apply to your booking are shown on your quote and confirmation.
- You want to change the date, time, route or vehicle
- You can do this up to seven days before the hire, subject to availability. A change may cost more, and we tell you the cost before we make it. If a change means the booking cannot go ahead, it is treated as a cancellation.
- Fewer than seven days to go
- Your right to change the booking has ended. Contact us straight away all the same, but we cannot promise a change will be possible.
- The balance is not paid on time
- The operator supplying your vehicle can cancel the booking. How booking works explains when the balance is due and who you pay.
- Your vehicle becomes unavailable
- We look for an equivalent or better vehicle from the fleet. We cannot promise the replacement will match the colour or interior of the one you chose.
- The hire is ended because of behaviour
- The operator can end a hire and ask passengers to leave if anyone commits an offence or behaves in a disruptive, offensive or threatening way. Neither we nor the operator will cover your onward travel. See our rules for passengers.
How to cancel
-
Put it in writing
Email info@limohire-in-london.co.uk or write to the address on this page. Include your name, your booking reference and the date of the hire.
-
Send it as early as you can
The charge depends on how much notice we get, so do not wait. If you might be able to move the date instead, ask us about a change first.
-
Keep proof that you sent it
Save the sent email, or get proof of postage if you write. A phone call does not cancel a booking, even if you have spoken to us about it.
Can the charge ever be waived?
Sometimes. We and the operator can choose not to apply the cancellation charge, depending on the circumstances. That is our decision to make and you should not rely on it when you book. If something serious has happened, tell us what it is when you cancel.
How to protect yourself before you pay
- Check every detail of your quote before paying the deposit: the date, times, addresses, vehicle and passenger numbers.
- If anyone in your group has access needs, raise them first. Our accessibility and special requirements page explains what to ask.
- If the hire is for a wedding or another one-off event, we recommend having your own insurance for it. See our wedding and prom pages for what to plan.
- Not sure of your date yet? Read how far in advance to book, then ask for a quote. A quote costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
